Vocal music is taught from pre-k through 5th grade with recorders being added in 4th and 5th grades. Praise and music are critical to the life of the church, and are therefore an integral part of the curriculum at ECS. Our students have various opportunities to use their musical abilities within the community each year.
Teaching children the importance of taking care of the body God gave them is an essential part of the PE program at ECS. Students are taught exercises and information on nutrition that can be used throughout their lives, as well as the fundamentals of basic sports.
Emmanuel Christian School "prepares students for life," by teaching the basics of many computer software programs and also safeguards for internet usage. Students learn to prepare classroom projects through the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
Students are taught art terms, skills and art appreciation through the study of various artists and art styles. They have opportunities to put their skills into practice by working with mediums such as: pencil, colored pencils, collage, pastels, acrylics, watercolors, paper mâché and clay.
ACSI Student Activities
Emmanuel Christian School has the opportunity to participate in many statewide activities held for ACSI schools. We currently participate in the Art Exhibit, Spelling Bee, Speech Meet, Science Fair and Math Olympics. Students must compete and meet requirements at our school level before they can compete at the regional or area levels.
