Expectations

The third grade teaches a biblical worldview during Bible instruction, starts to place a greater emphasis on independent reading and also works to develop writing more extensively and integrate it with other subjects on a greater scale. At the end of third grade, students have the opportunity to take summer math and enter the advanced math instruction the following year if test scores prove proficient.

• Reading: Open Court, Novel Series and Accelerated Reader (AR)
• English: Shurley English
• Spelling: Purposeful Design
• Science: Purposeful Design, Level 3
• Social Studies: Heritage Studies 3, 3rd Ed. (BJU Press 2013) (U.S. History), Oklahoma Story (Gibbs-Smith 2013)
• Special Classes: art, music, computer, PE and library time
